Catholic Herald Reporter ROME

POPE PAUL has appointed 70 new consultants to the Pontifical Commission set up by Pope John to revise the whole code of Canon Law Among the new consultants are seven archbishops and 14 bishops.

Among others named to consultant posts are Mgr. Agostino Casaroli, under-secretary for extraordinary affairs in the Vatican Secretariat of State. He has been conducting the difficult negotiations with the Hungarian Government about the reinstatement of Cardinal Mindszenty and the restoration of Church liberty in Hungary.

Two other names on the list are those of Professor P. F. Cremin of Maynooth College, Ireland, and Rev. William O'Connell, 0.F.M., of the Franciscan Institute in Rome.
