OBITUARY

Fr, R. David Henry, of the London Oratory, suddenly on holiday. aged 66. He was born in Swansea. where his father was Vicar of Holy Trinity. He was educated at Monkton Combe and Kehle College. Oxford. and later studied for the Anglican Ministry at St. Stephen's House Among his appointments in the Church of England were curaciesat St. Michael's, Camden Town. and St. Saviour's. Pimlico before becoming vicar of St. Thomas's, Monmouth in 1943.

In 1947 he was received into the C'adiolic Church and stayed for some time at Belmont Abbey before entering the Oratory in 1948.

Bro. James McGuigan, Si., in Stobhill Hospital. Glasgow, aged 68. after a lifetime's work as a carpenter and builder of churches, schools and mission stations in Rhodesia.

Born in Glasgow. he was apprenticed to an engraver before joining the Society of Jesus. He entered the novitiate at Roeham

ton in 1921. served at St. Wilfrid's. Preston. front 1923-25, and studied carpentry during that time.

He sailed for South Africa and Rhodesia in November 1925. and was engaged in carpentry and construction work at Hartmann Hill, Salisbury; Driefontein; Chishawasha; St. Goorge's College, Salisbury, and the -Monte Cassino Mission until 1970. when he retarned to Glasgow on leave.

Canon Michael O'Leary, parish priest at St. Aidan's. Willington Quay. Wallsend, since 1934. A native of Kenmare, Co. Kerry, he was educated at St. Brendan's Seminary, Kilkenny. and at St. Cuthbert's College, Ushaw. being ordained in St. Mary's Cathedral, Newcastle, in 1917.
