SEEING the caption accompany. ing the photograph of the Pope

and Dr Runcie, July 2, "successor of St Peter and successor of St Augustine exchange kiss of peace" reminded me of the ceremony in Canterbury Cathedral when the Archbishop "as successor of St Augustine welcomed the successor of St Gregory who sent him to our country".

If the Anglican claim is admitted about St Augustine's successor, why not the validity of their orders?
