The Bishop of Arundel and Brighton, the Rt Rev Comae Murphy-O'Connor, has announced the establishment of a diocesan pastoral centre at Maryvale, Brantley, Surrey, and has appointed his Secretary, Father Patrick Olivier, as the director.
Maryvale, which is now a specifically diocesan pastoral centre, has already been providing facilities for conferences and prayer, under the direction of the Franciscan Missionaries of the Divine Motherhood. With a team of these sisters, Father Olivier will aim to build up the programme of spiritual and theological renewal for the priests and people of the diocese, and particularly for young people — a place where they will all feel they belong, and can draw inspiration and strength for their Christian life.
