Dame Enid Lyons resigns her Cabinet post

Dame Enid Lyons, Australia's leading Catholic laywoman, has resigned from the Federal Cabinet on account of ill health. which has kept her out of public life for some months.

Dame Enid, mother of 11 children. is the widow of the late Mr. J. A. Lyons, Prime Minister of Australia in 1932-39. She came to England with her husband for King George V's jubilee celebrations and for the coronation of the present King.

She is Australian president of St. Joan's Social and Political Alliance.
