Papal Sacristan consecrated

The episcopal consecration in Rome last week of Mgr. Canisius Van Lierde, 0.S.A., the Holy Father's now Sacristan and Vicar General of Vatican City, was attended by his father and mother and his five brothers and their wives.

Cardinal Pizzardo, Secretary of the Supreme Congregation of the Holy Office, was the consecrator in St. Augustine's Church and was assisted by Archbishop Traglia, Vicegerent of Rome. and an Augustinian Bishop, Mgr. Addeo.
