Fr. Clement Tig,ar, S.J., who has suggested that the novena should he made between April 1 and 9, has received this message from Archbishop Godfrey: "1 am s very pleased to hear about the novena which you are making in order to help on the cause of the English Martyrs.
"We must do all in our power to obtain from God the miraoles which will help the cause of their canonisation. We must ask and ask again with great confidence in the hope that our prayers may be granted through the intercession of theta heroic servants of God."
Fr. Tiger writes : " Now is the time to demonstrate our devotion to the English martyrs.
"The same battle for freedom is going on behind the Iron Curtain as was fought in Elizabeth's England.
" If we are to get our martyrs canonised we need miracles, If we want miracles we must imitate the importunate widow in the Gospel." Fr. Tiger adds: "The age of miracles is not past."
