Welsh Catholics honour St. David

Many Welsh Catholics celebrated St. David's Day on March 1 by attending Mass and singing Welsh hymns in honour of their patron saint.

In Cardiff. Archbishop McGrath gave Pontifical Benediction and led the prayers in the vernacular. The sermon, also in Welsh. was preached by Fr. Barrett Davies, D.D.

He asked all Welsh Catholics to pray for the return of their separated countrymen to the true Church as in the days of St. David.

Mr. Cyril Clancy. general secretary to the Warrington Council of Social Service. reminded more than 500 scholars of Richard Fairclough School that . • . " the message of St. David's work and life is as virile today as it was 14 centuries ago."
