`Outrageous assertions'

Catholic and Anglican churchmen have joined to condemn as outrageous the assertions by a religious journalist in Liverpool that the ecumenical Call to the North is "the devil's work."

Anglican Church, resigned earlier this year as the public relations officer for the Call to the North, a joint effort of Catholics,

Anglicans and other Protestants to make Christianity more meaningful to the population in the north of England.
