On Sunday, October 4, at St. Mary's

Stonyhurst, the Bishop of Salford conferred the following Orders on students of the Venerable English College, Rome: First Two Minor Orders: Revv. W. Buxton (Lancaster), A. Clark (Southwark), M. Connolly (Shrewsbury), T. Sowerby (Lancaster), J. Groarke (Salford) and P. Kelly (Westminster). Diaconate: Revv. A. Storey (Middlesbrough), H. Lavery (Hexham and Newcastle), D. Roche (Westminster), F. O'Leary (Clifton), W. Brown (Westminster), J. Holland (Liverpool), J. Pledger (Southwark, D. Fahy (Leeds), A. Cotter (Clifton) and J. Daley (Shrewsbury).

DE MONTFORT ORDINATIONS At the same Ordination, the following Orders were conferred on students of the Company of Mary (De Montfort Missionaries): Sub-diaconate: Rev. M. Worsley. Diacoaate: Revv. B. Hughes, T. Yates and P. Rogan.

On Sunday, September 13, the Bishop of Shrewsbury conferred the following Orders at St. Joseph's, Hawkstone Hall: Priesthood : Rev. D. Brice, C.SS.R. Diaconate: Rev. J. Wilkinson, C.SS.R., Rev. F. Bagnall, S.D.S. Sub-diaconate: leev. F. Ingram, S.D.S. On Saturday, September 19, His Lordship raised to the priesthood Rev. I. Wilkinson, C.SS.R.

Blackburn Town Council have approved a tender for the erection of a prefabricated hut at St. Peter's School, Mill Hill.
