Aldershot altar to be blessed

An altar in memory of the Catholics, priests, laymen and women who gave their lives during the years 1939-45 is to be blessed on Remembrance Sunday, November 8, in St Michael's Church, Aldershot.

Originally it was intended to build a memorial church, but the appeal raised no more than E3,264 and this sum was not nearly enough.

The altar can, however, be reerected in a permanent church should this he built.

Solemn Requiem Mass will be offered at the altar on November at 11 a.m. Those who subscribed towards the cost of the altar are invited to attend.
