Cleaning Up

An order that 40 volumes of a book should be. destroyed at the expiration of 14 days, unless an appeal were lodged, was made by Blackburn magistrates on Thursday. September 1. The police described the book as " obscene".

The police swoop follows action by the local Catholic Action group who, for some time, have been fighting for definite steps to be taken againsf the display and sale of indecent books.
